I. About This Set
This vintage-inspired cross brooch and earrings set is crafted in 24K gold plated brass, combining architectural symmetry with refined handcrafted detailing.
The brooch features natural carnelian cabochons as its central stones. These are not Sri Lankan rubies and not Swarovski rhinestones. The carnelian displays a deep, translucent red tone with natural variation, offering a grounded and dignified focal point.
The earrings incorporate Swarovski crystals, providing controlled brilliance and color precision that contrasts beautifully with the warmth of the gold base.
Suspended beneath both the brooch and earrings are Miriam Haskell (MH) pearls. Founded in 1926, MH pearls are iconic within the vintage jewelry world, known for their baroque-inspired shapes and refined luster. Their surface glow rivals natural pearls, making them highly sought after among collectors.
Every engraved motif on the metal surface is hand-carved by artisans. The detailing is not machine-stamped. Each curve and recess is shaped slowly and intentionally, allowing light to interact with the textured gold surface in subtle, dimensional ways.
The result is a structured yet fluid composition — a cross form with both authority and softness.
II. My Story
I am a second-generation jeweler.
I grew up inside my father’s workshop, where metal was shaped slowly and patience was respected. Later, I studied Jewellery Design at Birmingham City University, where I developed a deeper understanding of proportion, historical references, and structural balance.
My work is never mass-produced.
It is built from both inherited craftsmanship and formal design education.
This set reflects my ongoing dialogue between vintage heritage and contemporary refinement. It carries both discipline and memory.
III. Styling Suggestions
This set works beautifully for:
• Structured blazers and tailored silhouettes
• Dark velvet dresses for evening events
• Minimal black or ivory outfits to let the cross form stand out
• Gallery openings, formal dinners, cultural gatherings
The brooch can be styled on lapels, structured coats, or even as a centerpiece on a velvet clutch.
The earrings provide movement through MH pearl drops, softening the geometric cross structure and framing the face with subtle luminosity.
It balances strength and elegance.
