1. Product Overview
This Imperial Cicada Heirloom Set is not just jewelry—it is a museum-grade wearable sculpture, built around the symbolic form of the cicada and executed with exceptional craftsmanship. The set includes a bolo-style necklace and a pair of statement drop earrings, both designed as mirrored compositions of wings, florals, and ornamental structure.
The foundation is crafted from solid brass, finished in 24K gold plating, giving the piece a deep, antique gold tone with a soft, luxurious glow rather than a harsh shine. The centerpiece cicada wings are brought to life through high-level enamel work, using saturated tones of crimson red, emerald green, ivory white, and jet black. The enamel is not flat—it is layered, glassy, and dimensional, allowing light to travel across each section like stained glass.
Each wing is further enhanced with intricate pavé-set crystals along the edges and tips, adding brilliance that contrasts with the rich enamel body. The detailing extends into micro-patterned gold lines that mimic natural wing veins, showing a level of precision rarely seen in fashion jewelry.
The necklace features a braided leather bolo cord, adjustable for different necklines, combining Western vintage styling with Eastern symbolic design. The back of the pendant is fully finished with engraved baroque scrollwork, reinforcing the “no hidden shortcuts” philosophy of true craftsmanship. The earrings echo the same structure—floral tops set with pink crystals, transitioning into articulated cicada wings that move slightly with wear, creating life and presence.
This is a heavy-work, high-detail piece, with real weight and structure—far removed from lightweight mass-market accessories. Every angle, front and back, is treated as part of the design.
2. My Story
I am a second-generation jewelry craftsman, trained in jewelry design at Birmingham City University. My journey started in my father’s workshop, where craftsmanship was never rushed and never compromised.
What I learned from him is simple: jewelry is not just about appearance—it is about integrity. The parts you cannot see matter just as much as the parts you can.
Today, I continue that philosophy in my own work. I am not trying to create fast fashion pieces. I am trying to build a personal archive—pieces that could one day belong in a small museum, carrying both craftsmanship and emotion.
3. Styling Guide
This set naturally carries a strong vintage and artistic presence, making it highly versatile across different styles:
For a vintage aristocratic look, pair it with velvet dresses, satin fabrics, or deep-toned garments like burgundy and forest green. The enamel colors will echo beautifully with rich textiles, creating a dramatic and refined presence.
For a Western-inspired outfit, style the bolo necklace with a white shirt, denim, leather jacket, or boots. The bolo format brings a relaxed but bold personality, perfect for modern street styling or music festival looks.
For a minimalist modern outfit, wear it against black, white, or neutral tones. This allows the jewelry to become the centerpiece, highlighting its color contrast and craftsmanship without competition.
4. Who It’s For
I designed this set for people who are not looking for ordinary jewelry.
This is for collectors, artists, vintage lovers, and individuals who appreciate rare craftsmanship, bold design, and pieces that carry meaning. It is for those who want their jewelry to be noticed—not because it is loud, but because it is different.
It is also for those who understand that true elegance comes from detail, weight, and intention—not trend.
