Paragraph I
In 1572, at the Palace of Fontainebleau, Duchess Catherine of the Valois dynasty was recorded wearing a pair of black gold cross earrings — a diplomatic gift presented by Queen Elizabeth I of England.
The cross motif echoed royal heraldry, while the matte black gold finish embodied the era’s ideal of restrained luxury among European nobility.
This design later appeared in a court portrait that was archived in the Louvre’s historical collection of noble jewelry imagery.
My version remains deeply faithful to the original structure and spirit.
The classical cross form, surface texture, and symbolic restraint have been carefully preserved. The only deliberate modification was the removal of the original blue pendant beneath the cross — a decision made to reduce overall weight and significantly improve long-term wearing comfort.
The result is a piece that stays true to its noble origin, while offering a more balanced, wearable experience for the modern wearer — elegant, dignified, and effortless even after extended wear.
Paragraph II
I am a second-generation artisan and a graduate of Birmingham City University, where I formally studied jewelry design.
My love for jewelry is not casual — it is persistent, demanding, and at times almost obsessive.
Only someone with this level of devotion would choose to recreate so many historical classics by hand, knowing how much labor, patience, and discipline they require. I do this not for trends or speed, but because I genuinely love the craft itself.
This kind of passion is rare.
It is difficult to find elsewhere — not because others lack skill, but because few are willing to give themselves so completely to the art of jewelry.
Every piece I create carries this sincerity.
I believe my work can stand beside true elegance — and be worthy of the person who chooses to wear it.
Paragraph III|Styling & Wearing Suggestions
These earrings are designed to complement refined, elegant wardrobes.
They pair beautifully with tailored coats, silk dresses, structured eveningwear, and minimalist formal looks.
Ideal for formal gatherings, exhibitions, ceremonies, and portrait occasions, they offer presence without excess — a quiet authority that enhances, rather than overwhelms, the wearer’s elegance.
This is a piece that speaks softly, yet carries history in its weight.
